Conquering Democrat.....

...the mountain that is;) On Friday, my friend Dan met me in Breckenridge,Colorado and we took off into the hills on an overnight trip to climb Mt. Democrat which stands at 14,148 feet tall(talk about thin air). After not getting any sleep Friday night becuase of 35- 40 mph winds we proceeded to start our climb at 7 a.m. We got to the top at around 10:30 and were back down at camp by noon. The views from the top of the mountain were awesome. It was about 30 degrees and was blowing about 40 miles an hour at the summit. After getting back to the jeeps we headed back to Breckenridge to stuff our faces with pizza and Coke while watching the U.S. and Italy in the World Cup, as well as sit in the park and soak up the sun. It was a great day. We crashed early last night though and did not have any trouble sleeping. So, on to new places it is.....Catch ya later
